WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THIS COURSE?

Legionnaires’ disease is a potentially fatal form of pneumonia, and everyone is susceptible to infection. Being aware of what increases the risk and how to take preventative action is a legal requirement that can save lives. It is also a legal requirement to report any Legionella exposure to the Health and Safety Executive. As a business, exposing people to Legionella can lead to large fines and/or criminal proceedings.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This course is intended to give you an awareness of Legionella and how to prevent it. Legionella training is a legal requirement for anyone with a responsibility for the prevention and control of legionella within the workplace.

COURSE AND TIMINGS

This course takes approximately 45 minutes in total to complete.

By the end of this course, you will have learnt:

  • The groups at greater risk
  • The ideal conditions for growth, including water temperature and environments
  • Legislation and regulations governing Legionella
  • Legal responsibilities of the ‘duty holder’ and ‘responsible person’
  • Components of systems that are at greater risk of allowing Legionella to grow
  • Measures to take to control risks.
