WHY SHOULD YOU TAKE THIS COURSE?
Asbestos is an extremely hazardous substance that constantly causes serious ill-health to anyone who disturbs it. For this reason, Asbestos Awareness training helps workers understand the risks associated with the materials, so that they can avoid work that may disturb asbestos.
WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?
Anyone who is likely to disturb asbestos in their work must have an awareness of the correct procedures to follow.
Workers who plan to carry out the work that will disturb asbestos require a higher level of training which is not supported on this course. This training does not allow you to work with asbestos containing materials and is used for guidance only.
COURSE AND TIMINGS
This course lasts approximately 30 minutes in total.
By the end of the course, you will have learnt:
- What is required to demonstrate statutory compliance to the legislation
- Have a basic knowledge of the different types and typical locations of asbestos
- Understand employers & employee’s responsibilities, including the role of Duty Holders
- Identify what is required to effectively identify and manage asbestos
